Huawei foldable phone might beat Samsung
Folding smartphones are gaining popularity among users, due to their compact size. Currently, foldable phones come in two types: first which unfolds into tablets, and second those that can flip and open like a traditional flip phone. However, if a recent TrendForce report is correct, Huawei foldable phone might beat everyone to the punch with a triple foldable smartphone in 2024. Huawei Kirin makes place in the world’s top 5 chipmakers.
According to the report, development on the phone is going well, and we may see that Huawei release such a gadget as soon as March 2024. If this is the case, then it’ll be interesting to see what type of benefits these gadgets can provide. The only issue is that Huawei is still prohibited from cooperating with US firms, which means no Android for the time being, which could prevent some consumers from purchasing the gadget.
Samsung also has been working on making a triple foldable phone for some time but has yet to release a product. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of such a gadget. If Huawei were able to release this phone before Samsung, that would be quite an achievement.
In terms of additional foldable form factors, Motorola recently demonstrated a concept phone in which the display and body of the phone could be bent/folded, allowing users to wear the phone on their wrist, although it is uncertain whether such a device would ever be commercialized.
