Remember the time when BlackBerry was still in existence? Now and then, BlackBerry would release a gadget/smartphone built in partnership with Porsche Design, and now it appears that Honor’s turn is finally here.
Honor and Porsche announced worldwide on 14th Dec 2023 that we will see both firms collaborate on future product creation. While it is natural to think that this will take the shape of a smartphone, Honour does create other mobile devices and accessories, so this collaboration might extend beyond smartphones.

Honor and Porsche Design, Best of Both Worlds
HONOUR is a technology pioneer thanks to its extensive and advanced research and development skills. After achieving independence in 2020, HONOUR quickly positioned itself as an industry leader in foldable smartphones and mobile imaging breakthroughs, establishing itself as a significant participant in the smartphone market. Porsche Design offers to this partnership its design skills and decades of experience in the luxury category. The brand’s fame and success derive from Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s ageless, practical, and uncompromising design philosophy, which not only developed the renowned Porsche 911 but also created the world’s first all-black wristwatch. Porsche Design has almost 15 years of experience in the smartphone industry, having designed and co-developed various high-performance handsets.

Sidenote
Interestingly, Honor’s former parent firm Huawei had previously collaborated with Porsche Design to manufacture devices such as the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS and Mate 50 RS, thus their partnership with Honour comes as no surprise. According to the statement, the first jointly developed smart device between HONOR and Porsche Design will be revealed to the public in January 2024 in China.
