HTC once was one of the best smartphone making companies, but after several mistakes, the firm basically called it quits. They do produce phones from time to time, but if you are also a fan of HTC’s phones, you might be interested to know that they’re not giving up entirely.
According to GizmoChina, HTC’s Senior Vice President of Global Business and Marketing, Huang Zhaoying, announced that the firm intends to introduce 1-2 new phones every year for the foreseeable future. He also mentioned that there will be no flagship phones.
According to the company’s chief, HTC intends to release phones in the mid-range market, where it could use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen series processor. It appears that the company does not intend to reach the flagship market, where it would have to rely on pricey Snapdragon 8 Gen chipsets.
Instead, HTC appears to be planning to release mid-range devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 series in the upcoming models. This isn’t always a negative thing. While flagship phones contain a lot of sophisticated, high-end features, the majority of companies generate the majority of their money through entry-level and mid-range devices, as they have an increased profit margin.
The decision lines up with the company’s goal of catering to what it deems to be the ‘better-suited’ demands of its clients rather than switching to the higher-end Snapdragon 8 series.
So Instead of making investments in technology or competing with competitors like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and others, HTC might consider playing it smart and safe by sticking with more established technology that has been proven to be successful.
So, if you’re an HTC lover, you may expect some new HTC phones in 2024.
