The upcoming iPhone pro mode is rumored to feature an upgraded ultra-wide angle camera while the title iPhone 16 series pro is said to support the tetraprism telephoto setup camera, which we have seen in last year’s iPhone 15 pro max. On the other hand, there are rumors about Apple improving the selfie camera for the iPhone 17 series.
The iPhone 16 pro is said to get another big upgrade in the type of a bigger display size of 6.27 inches.
iPhone 16 series – Display size
The iPhone 16 pro display size is tipped to increase to 6.3 from 6.1 inches whereas Pro max will have a 6.9-inch screen matched to 6.9 inch on the present generation. The iPhone 16 pro will reportedly pack a 5x tetra prism optical zoom camera that is just limited to the iPhone 15 pro max. Additionally, analyst’s kuo reveals that the 12MP ultra-wide angle unit on both the pro models will be improved to a 48MP 1/2.55 inch unit.
Last year’s iPhone 15 pro max is furnished with a standard 48-megapixel main sensor, complemented by two twelve-megapixel sensors for telephoto and ultra-wide capabilities. Notably, it featured 7 distinct focal lengths, improving the versatility of the cameras and providing users with a multitude of photography styles and options. The Apple 15 pro max introduced digital zoom and unpredicted optical capabilities, boasting 25x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom.
iPhone 16 series – iPhone 17 pro expected features
In 2025, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to complete the rear camera array transition to 48-megapixel sensors, bringing the latest technology to the Telephoto lens. Kuo said the iPhone 16 pro is on-track to spec the tetraprism Telephoto camera introduced on the iPhone 15 pro max. He said also that the iPhone 17 lineup will feature an upgraded front-camera unit with a 24-megapixel sensor and 6 element lenses.
All iPhone 16 models have been reported to get in-house A18 chipsets and ship with IOS 18 OS. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has also advised that a new dedicated button for taking a video, known as “Capture Button”, will be featured in the upcoming iPhone 16 models. The iPhone 16 plus and iPhone 16 have also been tipped to get the Action Button, which is now accessible exclusively on iPhone 15 pro models.
The report also advises that unlike the conventional mechanical buttons found on the power keys and volume, the latest action button will adopt capacitive-style functionality.
