In 2021, Xiaomi released the Xiaomi Mix 4. In the recent past, it was the only Xiaomi phone that had an under-display camera. Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed key information regarding a future smartphone that could have a pair of under-display cameras. It is suspected that he might be talking about the Xiaomi Mix 5.
Xiaomi Mix 5: Leaked specifications surfaced
According to DCS(digital chat station), the unknown new flagship phone undergoing testing has a Snapdragon 8-series chipset, as stated in the Weibo post above. The phone’s display seems to be bezel-less due to the very small bezels on all four sides.
The post also mentioned that there are two under-display cameras on the gadget. It looks like the phone has a telephoto lens with an optical zoom of up to 4x on one of its rear-facing cameras.
The tipster did not disclose the mobile device name, but it appears that the Xiaomi Mix 5 could be the one he is referring to based on the design of the display and the presence of two under-screen cameras. The previously mentioned gadget may be a flagship ZTE phone because the company has been releasing phones with under-display cameras regularly over the previous few years. Therefore, it’s best to take this news with caution.
Returning to the Mix 5, it has been suggested in recent rumors that the company may not intend to launch it this year. Even though the device—which has the model number 2503AVP01C has been recently found in the IMEI database, it could finally unveiled in March 2025. Relatedly, it has been reported that Xiaomi is planning on releasing two phones under the Mix name this year. The Xiaomi Mix Flip, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, could launch in the first half of 2024, while the Mix Fold 4, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, might unveiled in the second half of the the year.
