With its AI capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series received a lot of attention from users, on the other hand, OnePlus has quietly unveiled its own AI capabilities in China with a recent ColorOS upgrade.
OnePlus 11 and 12 received AI-powered features in its latest update
The OnePlus 12 and 11 devices in the Chinese market are offered this update. The firmware version for the OnePlus 11 is PHB110_14.0.0.403(CN01), and for the OnePlus 12 is PJD110_14.0.0.405(CN01).
The update comes with three more generative AI features, although it’s not as comprehensive as Samsung’s offering.
The first feature is an AI summarizer that can provide phone call summaries that include important details like the time, location, and other related details.
The second feature is the AIGC Remover, an image editor that works similarly to the AI photo editing seen on Samsung and Google Pixel devices in that it allows you to remove unpleasant persons or objects from images.
And the last feature from OnePlus is an Article Summarizer feature, that enables users to quickly summarize articles with a single tap.
Apart from AI capability, the upgrade enables you to unlock your phone using a fingerprint scanner without ever waking up the screen. QQ Music can now be controlled by users on Always-On Display, and the screen recording indicator can be displayed as a floating window or in the status bar.
The OnePlus 12 update also comes with the fixes of network signals issue in crowded locations with subway-like conditions in addition to improving WLAN, Bluetooth, and NFC network compatibility and stability. With the snapshot below, you can check out the update’s entire changelog.
As previously clarified, these AI capabilities are only offered on the ColorOS Chinese edition currently. But since ColorOS and OxygenOS are both used globally, it’s possible that they may eventually be rolled out for the OnePlus 12 and 11 devices for other nations or globally.
