Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 would be the first foldable smartphone with a Leica camera
The Honor Magic V2, the lightest and thinnest foldable phone available in this country, is now available in Europe as well. However, it’s just the start of 2024, and there will be a lot more foldable phones released this year that could take Honor’s place. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which will be the first model available worldwide with a Leica camera, is one quite intriguing candidate.
As of right now, Xiaomi is getting ready for the Mobile World Congress, where they likely launch their Xiaomi 14, also possibly the Xiaomi 14 Pro version globally and maybe the Xiaomi 14 Pro to Europe along with the much-anticipated arrival of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The next Xiaomi foldables, however, have also kept the development facilities busy.
Since a global model of the Mix Fold 3 was found in the IMEI database, there are rumors that the smartphone will be released this year for the first time outside of China.
A few days ago, a tipster said that the challenger to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold5 and the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold6, which is scheduled for launch this summer, would be launched in European markets. Kartikey Singh, an Indian tipster, has now leaked more details about a few of the upcoming advancements. It appears that the Mix Fold 4 will once more provide an extensive update to the hinge, which helped the Mix Fold 3 to keep its stability in a half-open state, similar to Samsung’s Foldables, for instance, it might be used as a tripod for a camera.
The tipster reports that the forthcoming hinge generation will be both significantly lighter and considerably more resilient than the current model of the Mix Fold, which weighs 250 grams, which is far more than its rival from Honor and Co., which is currently available in Europe. For the first time, the Mix Fold 4 may also receive IP certification from Xiaomi, as it appears that the company intends to compete with Samsung’s waterproof hinges. Without any supporting proof, the leaker’s claims must naturally still be considered rumors. So take this with a pinch of salt.
